A Man Of The Times

Angel/Spike: my boy
Title: A Man Of The Times
Word count: 100
Characters/pairings: Angelus/William
Rating R
Warnings: non-con
Disclaimer: The boys belong to Joss, even though I’m often much nicer to them than he is.
Authors Notes: Written for open_on_sunday’s prompt, court.

Angelus had expected William to submit to him easily, once he understood the realities of vampiric families. This golden-haired Ganymede was just Angelus’ type: small, blond, and with a hint of danger. Unfortunately, he was also a man of the times, and his sensibilities were shocked by Angelus’ roguish grins and “inappropriate touches!”

So Angelus courted him. He spoke to him softly, smiling; he gave William the pick of the prey; he brought back trinkets and truffles. Intimacy and patience, that was how the elegant preyed.

Then Angelus got bored, so he threw William down and fucked him into unconsciousness.

Excellent! Angel would of course see William as Ganymede to his Zeus, while William would be shocked! Not that it would make any difference in the end. This is a wonderful way to flesh out all the little bits from Destiny, and is a great explanation for so much of their fraught relationship.

One thing: JKR doesn't actually have any stock in the Buffyverse, imaginative though she may be.

Thanks so much! I love that you got the reference - Ganymede to Zeus is exactly how I see their early relationship.

Thanks for the warning, btw *blushes*

Oh, wonderful insight into Angelus and William's relationship in the beginning. It explains why there was so much tension between the two when William became Spike.

Thanks so much! This was meant to be off-the-cuff silliness and I'm so glad it actually worked when it went all, "AHA! And this is why!"

Very nice. And true to both their characters.

Hahaha thats brilliant!

I was reading it like some sort of wistful soft piece of poetry that suddenly ended in abrupt manner. I really liked this! It made me smile.

Oh perfect ending! Such an Angelus thing to do!
Great take on the prompt!

Heh, that sounds about right. I love the idea of Angelus courting him and being spurned by Victorian William.

Thanks! I like that image too - William just turning up his nose and being all shocked. Poor thwarted!Angelus (until he gets bored, anyway!)

Can't believe I hadn't read this yet! It almost reminds me of Lestat and Louis' relationship in the Vampire Chronicles... The last line caught me off guard! But it also made me giggle in a slightly uncomfortable yet giddy way.

Can't believe I hadn't replied to this yet! *fails*

I'm glad the last line surprised you - it was meant to, after all. :D I am naughty that way.
